How it is calculated
Total paid = the sum of shares x price for every lot. Total shares = the sum of the shares.
Average price = total paid / total shares, rounded to the paisa once.
Value = total shares x today's price. Gain or loss = value - total paid. Return = (value - total paid) / total paid.
Assumptions
- Every lot counts for the number of shares in it.
- A lot with a price of 0 (bonus shares, for example) lowers the average.
- The costs of dealing and tax are not counted.
