Steady yearly rate (XIRR)
12.47%
- Everything put in
- PKR 1,000,000
- Gain
- PKR 800,000
- Total return
- 80%
How it is calculated
The yearly rate x is the one for which every amount put in, grown to today, adds up to the value today: the sum of amount x (1 + x)^(years since it went in) = value today.
It is found exactly, without decimals in the working, and rounded to a hundredth of a percent. A loss keeps its minus sign.
Total return = (value today - everything put in) / everything put in.
Assumptions
- Amounts go in at whole years. Real XIRR uses exact dates, which this page does not take.
- The rate is shown as if it were the same every year. Real returns go up and down.
- Fees and tax are not counted.
